The Centre for Security and Society is a transdisciplinary research facility. Its personnel structure consists of a Board of Directors and a Managing Unit, Members, and the Research Team.

The Board of Directors consists of five professors, each coming from one of the five different faculties involved in the CSS. Its actual Executive Director is Prof. Dr. Hans-Helmuth Gander.

Managing Director


Nicholas Eschenbruch recently assumed the functions of administrative management. In the adminstrative tasks, he is supported by Birgit Boppel (Secretariat), Friederike Schreiber (Controlling and Event Management) and the research assistants.


Members


The Centre for Security and Society is a transdisciplinary research centre focused on security-related sociopolitical questions in a general sense. It gathers together renowned researchers dispersed in five faculties of the University of Freiburg.

Research team


The research team comprises the research associates who work on research projects of the Centre for Security and Society. This research group is led by the different members of the centre.
