EVADEX's purpose is to set standards in the broad field outside aviation against threats deriving from explosion hazards or chemical accidents. The project is coordinated by Fraunhofer ICT and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. While André Biermann's remit includes investigations about societal aspects of detection technologies, Martina F. Biebert is concerned with the animal alternative: explosive detection dogs. The subproject's task is to formulate and correlate the very diversity of aspects and criteria evolving in questions of acceptance in particular societal realms.
