InGe - Instrument for situational description of  the experience of violence in the public sector

The aim of the project is to develop a comprehensive situation report tool for recording and evaluating the experience of violence by employees in the public sector. With the help of this tool, gaps in the previous empirical recording of incidences of violence should be closed and a continuous, comprehensive monitoring of physical and psychological experiences of violence should become possible.

The sociological subproject at the CSS is developing conceptual foundations for the development of a situational awareness tool. With regard to the high diversity of fields of activity in the public service, area-specific differences in the perception of acts of violence should be recorded, general conditions of reporting behavior will be taken into account, and objectifiable dimensions of incidents of violence and dimensions of experience will be linked. In a second step, field tests are planned to evaluate and to develop a first demonstrator.

The BMBF-funded research project is being conducted in cooperation with the Joint Center for Local Crime Prevention (GeZ KKP) and Disy Informationssysteme GmbH.
